Neglected: Hockey’s Vice-Captain Faces Indifference

The government and the federation have not yet started the treatment of the injured player during the national duty.

Sources say that Hockey Federation President Tariq Bugti promised to get Abubakar treatment from anywhere during his stay in China and Prime Minister Youth Program Chairman Rana Mashhood assured treatment on video call, but the vice-captain on his return home. No one stopped the treatment of Abu Bakr.

The federation said that there are no funds and said that the treatment will be started as soon as the funds come.

Abu Bakr wants to have the surgery done abroad so that the rehab can be done properly and he can get fit in time, he does not have lakhs of rupees for this and he is not sure if he will be paid or not.

On the other hand, Secretary Rana Mujahid says that Abu Bakr will be fully taken care of and his check-up is also being done. If he has to be sent abroad, he will be sent.

Rana Mujahid also says that the President of the Federation has written a letter to the Prime Minister for the treatment of Abu Bakr and has asked the Prime Minister for funds for the treatment, it is hoped that there will be progress in this regard soon.

It should be noted that due to the lack of timely surgery, there is a fear of complication of the injury, which is increasing the problems of Abu Bakr.
