Karachi: 3 foreigners were killed in an explosion near Jinnah International Airport while 17 civilians were injured, three vehicles and four motorcycles were destroyed.
According to Express News, the oil tanker exploded with a loud explosion near the airport signal, the sound of which was heard far away. The vehicles of the fire brigade reached the spot and got busy in extinguishing the fire.
After an hour of struggle, the fire of the tanker and vehicles was extinguished. After the explosion, there was a severe traffic jam in the vicinity of Shahrai Faisal Airport.
The rescue team says that one person died and 10 people were injured in the incident, the dead person and the injured were immediately shifted to the hospital, the injured included 3 security, 2 rangers a policeman, a foreigner, and three other people. The foreigner has been shifted to a private hospital, and CTD and bomb disposal squad teams also reached the spot to collect evidence from the crime scene.
Provincial Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Linjar says that the incident is the result of terrorism. The terrorists have targeted a car in which a foreigner was riding, who was injured. After the explosion, rows of vehicles formed.
