Afghanistan will not participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

According to diplomatic sources, Afghanistan has not been invited to participate in the SCO meeting.

Diplomatic sources say that Afghanistan is not a member of the SCO, it is an observer state and inactive, Afghanistan became an observer of the SCO on June 7, 2012, and has been inactive since September 2021.

The Islamic Emirate has not recognized most of the provisions of the SCO Afghanistan Agreement. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan does not recognize the former Afghan government as its predecessor.

According to diplomatic sources, the Islamic Emirate must recognize the SCO-Afghan agreement, the 2 observer countries of the SCO are Afghanistan and Mongolia.

Diplomatic sources say that dialogue partners have not been invited to the SCO Summit, the SCO Secretariat has invited only observer member Mongolia.
