Umme Habiba Commits Suicide in Hostel Room

A 5th-semester student at Punjab University allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her hostel room.

Umme Habiba, a student living with her sister in room 74 of Punjab University’s hostel number 08, took her own life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her friend’s room, number 91.

According to university officials, the incident took place in Room 74 of Hostel No. 8.

Hostel sources revealed that the girl locked herself inside Room 91, belonging to her friend. Upon breaking the door, the warden found her hanging from the fan.

The student was from the Institute of Education and Research (IER) and originally belonged to Sialkot.

While the reasons for her suicide remain unknown, police and forensic teams have gathered evidence from the scene and initiated an investigation.
