Champions Trophy: Hybrid model more likely if India don’t come to Pakistan, Richard Thompson

England Cricket Board (ECB) Chairman Richard Thompson has said that in case of India not coming to Pakistan, an alternative option is being considered, the possibilities of a hybrid model are high.

Speaking to British journalists in Multan along with CEO Richard Gold, he said that ICC Champions Trophy is not an option without India.

He said that if India does not come to Pakistan, the possibilities of hybrid model are increasing now. There are ICC meetings in a few days, where various options will be considered.

Richard Thompson said that India’s non-participation in the Champions Trophy would not be in the interest of cricket. Jay Shah, who will now be the head of the ICC, will have an important role in this matter.

On this occasion, Richard Gould said that Pakistan and India not playing will have a very negative impact on broadcasting rights and we have to protect it.

The CEO of the English Cricket Board said that there is still time in the Champions Trophy, it takes time to make decisions.

Richard Thompson said that if such situations arise, there are many options available.

He also said that this matter is between India and Pakistan and I hope they will find a way out. This is a big moment for Pakistan and hope to see the whole event in Pakistan.
