The United States has imposed sanctions on 26 organizations for helping Pakistan and Iran’s weapons and drone programs.
The US has added more than 26 entities to its trade blacklist, allegedly involved in supporting Pakistan and Iran’s weapons and drone development programs, as well as aiding Russia’s war effort in Ukraine.
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, most of the 26 companies are located in Pakistan, China, and the United Arab Emirates, and have been accused of violating export controls, engaging in “questionable weapons programs,” or being involved in Russia and the United Arab Emirates. Iran is accused of evading US sanctions and export controls.
As a front company for the Advanced Engineering Research Organization, the procurement agents were working with 7 other companies contributing to the South Asian nation’s ballistic missile program.
The United States says that there are 3 companies supplying to the UAE, 1 to Egypt, and 6 to China.
Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement Matthew Axelrod stated that action was taken to support these countries’ WMD and UAE programs.
The United States says that foreign parties will face consequences if they engage in reckless or illegal behavior related to our laws.
Assistant Secretary for Commerce and Export Administration Thea Roseman-Kendler said that the basaltic missile programs of Iran and South Asian countries are a threat to US national security, and they will not be supported by US technologies.
“We are vigilant in protecting American national security from corrupt elements,” Alan Esteve, under commerce secretary for industry and security, said in a statement.
