WhatsApp Introduces Filters and Background Effects for Video Calls
WhatsApp is not just for messaging friends and family—it also offers voice and video calling features. The Meta-owned messaging app continues to enhance its video call functionality with features like screen sharing and call links.
Until now, users couldn’t hide or change their backgrounds during video calls. However, WhatsApp is now introducing filters and background effects as part of the app to enhance video call experiences.
Key Features:
- 10 Filters and 10 Backgrounds:
Users can apply these during video calls to modify their appearance and background. - Background Effects:
This allows users to change the background during a call. You can also blur the background for more privacy. - Filters:
Users can adjust the look of their video with filters that provide warm or cool tones. - Virtual Backgrounds:
WhatsApp now supports virtual backgrounds, adding more customization options. - Touch-up Option:
This feature works like beauty filters found on some Android phones, making users look better during video calls. - Low Light Mode:
This option improves video quality in low-light environments, ensuring better visibility.
Both touch-up and low-light features will function even when users apply filters or virtual backgrounds.
Users will be able to use these new features in both individual and group video calls. WhatsApp has announced that these updates will be rolled out to users in the coming weeks.
