Sui Northern and Sui Southern Submit Gas Price Hike Requests to OGRA
Islamabad: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) have submitted requests to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) seeking increases in gas prices.
SNGPL has proposed an increase of Rs. 64.16 per MMBTU, requesting the average gas price to be set at Rs. 1,810.36 per MMBTU.
Meanwhile, SSGC has sought a Rs. 669 per MMBTU increase, with a request to set the average price at Rs. 1,920 per MMBTU.
In response, OGRA has invited suggestions from gas consumers regarding the proposed price hikes.
OGRA will conduct hearings on November 5 for SNGPL’s request and on November 8 for SSGC’s proposal.
Following the hearings, OGRA will submit its recommendations to the federal government. The final decision on gas prices will be made after approval from the government.
