Meta Developing AI-Powered Search Engine to Compete with Google and Bing

Meta is working on developing a search engine powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), according to reports. The move aims to reduce the company’s reliance on search engines like Google and Microsoft’s Bing.

Previously, OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, also introduced its AI-based search engine to challenge Google’s dominance in the search industry.

Sources reveal that Meta’s new search engine will be integrated into its AI chatbot, Meta AI, providing users with detailed information.

Currently, Meta depends on Google and Bing for information on news, stocks, sports, and other updates. However, the company has not officially commented on the new development.

In a recent move, Meta partnered with Reuters to use its content and offer real-time answers to user queries related to current affairs and news.

Meanwhile, Google is rapidly integrating its new AI model, Gemini, into its search engine to enhance the web search experience for users. OpenAI, too, is dependent on Microsoft Bing for its search engine operations, as its own platform is not yet fully functional.
