Sikh Pilgrims Arrive in Lahore for Guru Nanak’s 555th Birth Anniversary Celebrations
In celebration of the 555th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, Sikh pilgrims from around the world, including Britain and Canada, arrived in Lahore, Pakistan. This special event was organized to honor the revered Sikh spiritual leader and founder of Sikhism. Secretary of Tourism, Farid Ahmed Tarar, warmly welcomed the pilgrims, showcasing Pakistan’s hospitality and commitment to interfaith harmony.
Approximately 170 Sikh pilgrims began their Lahore visit with a sightseeing tour aboard a double-decker bus, exploring the historic and cultural landmarks of the city. Many pilgrims expressed excitement and awe at experiencing Lahore’s vibrant culture firsthand. They shared that they had always heard of Lahore’s beauty, but witnessing it in person left a lasting impression.
The celebration was marked by the participation of the pilgrims in traditional drumming and dancing. These joyful activities allowed them to immerse themselves in the city’s festive atmosphere and connect with the local culture. This visit to Lahore, for many of the pilgrims, was a journey of spiritual significance and cultural discovery.
During the event, the pilgrims appreciated the hospitality and efforts made by the Pakistani authorities to make their trip memorable. As Pakistan’s tourism sector continues to promote religious tourism, events like these foster a spirit of goodwill and unity between people of different faiths.
